Uluwatu is located in the very south of Bali and is not to be missed if you are looking for fine beaches, good food and fun Bali parties. Hop on your scooter and explore Uluwatu's high cliffs, azure seas, white beaches and cutest joints. This is a lovely place that still retains its laid-back vibe. There are plenty of good restaurants and hotels in Uluwatu but you won't find mass tourism like in Kuta or Seminyak.
Start with exploring Uluwatu's most beautiful beaches .Uluwatu has many beautiful white beaches.
Padang Padang
This beach is one of Bali's favourite surf spots. The beach is fairly crowded as it is not very big, but you can have a great time watching all the surfers in the water. Padang Padang is very central, close to all the restaurants and shops. A little further south is another beach with the same name. Here it is often much quieter but just a little less beautiful.
Nyang Nyang
This is a bright white beach that is several kilometres long. There's a good chance you'll have this beach almost all to yourself. From the mountain, where you have to park your scooter, you have views over the beach and the ocean. Be sure to climb down for a refreshing dip in the blue waters.
Dreamland Beach
Last but not least dreamland beach in Uluwatu. The sand is white, the sea is blue and the waves are huge when the tide is out. You can definitely have a good afternoon there watching people get engulfed by the waves or challenging yourself to go into the sea.
After the beaches you should visit the Kecak dance at Uluwatu Temple.
This is also definitely not to be missed when in Uluwatu. Okay, it is very touristy but that certainly has its reasons. Head to the Uluwatu temple in the late afternoon and walk past the various cool viewpoints. Do watch out for the monkeys as we already saw two monkeys chewing on sunglasses and a cap. So tuck your things away in your bag and you'll be fine. When the sun almost sets, the Kecak performance starts. This is a unique traditional Balinese dance combined with theatre. An extraordinary spectacle that you must have seen! The performance lasts just under an hour. It is useful to book your tickets in advance as the performance is regularly fully booked.
Visiting Karang Boma Cliff (Uluwatu Cliff) is also a highlight of your Uluwatu trip.
Karang Boma Cliff is the most popular viewpoint in southern Bali, and rightly so. You'll find this cliff near Nyang Nyang Beach. It costs IDR 10,000 to enter. The most convenient way to reach the entrance is by scooter, although you can also take a taxi.
Because of its beautiful views, it is also popular among photographers and Instagrammers. The sunset there is very beautiful, but during the day it is also definitely worth seeing with its clear blue water, brown rocks and abundant greenery. The Karang Boma Cliff is also known as the Uluwatu Cliff.
To conclude visiting Uluwatu is definitely a place you should add to your inteniary when you are visiting Bali. Uluwatu is the ultimate place to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature of Bali.
